Hockey SA South Regional Association of the Year Award
This award acknowledges a regional association that has excelled over a twelve-month period by encouraging more people to take part in hockey, setting standards to which other clubs aspire and demonstrating a proven track record in working with schools, local authorities and other community organisations. Other key criteria for winning this award include proven increases in playing and officiating numbers, improved services to members and achieving high standards of good practice, safety and governance.
Nomination Criteria
The nominated association must be a member of Hockey SA which has made a significant contribution to developing hockey and club practices during the last twelve-month period.
Selection Criteria
The selection committee will consider all nominations against the following criteria -
- Junior development initiatives and participation
- Increasing or maintaining participation and in particular on field
- Officials and coaches’ development initiatives resulting in increases in participation
- Administration and registration initiatives
- Governance initiatives including participation in ORS Star Club program
- Sponsorship initiatives
- Marketing and promotion initiatives
- Participation in healthy outcomes, No Smoking campaigns and responsible alcohol policies and practices including those promoted by Good Sports
- Child Safe and member protection procedures & initiatives
- Fostering an inclusive and family friendly environment
- Facility and infrastructure initiatives.
The Award recipient will be the association who is deemed by the selection committee to have best met the criteria in an overall sense. The decision of the selection committee will be final, and no correspondence will be entered.
Nominations
Information must be entered online via the relevant Hockey SA Awards nomination form, agreed by the President of the Association or a member of the Associations executive committee. Nominations must be received by 5pm on Friday 21st August 2026. Nominations received after that time will not be taken into consideration.
Submission
Please read the nomination and selection criteria prior to completing the nomination form. Please submit the completed nomination form and upload any other supporting documentation that you may wish to include which exhibits official recognition, such as newspaper articles, letters of support, certificates of achievement, awards etc.

The nominator understands that Personal Information (as defined in the Information Privacy Act 2000) derived from this form is recorded by Hockey SA for the purposes of the 2026 Hockey SA Awards. The Personal Information will be used solely by Hockey SA for these purposes and/or directly related purposes, including writing to the nominee. Otherwise, Hockey SA may only disclose this information if required to by law. In addition, the nominator understands that he or she may apply to Hockey SA for access to and/or amendment of the information that applies to him or her. Requests for access and/or amendment should be made to Hockey SA’s Chief Executive Officer.
