Schools
Hockey SA is pleased to offer a range of opportunities for schools, designed to introduce students to hockey, support quality physical education delivery, and strengthen participation pathways. We understand the demands on school schedules and aim to provide flexible, curriculum-aligned options that are easy for schools to implement. We offer the following program types:
- Introductory Clinic = A single full-day clinic delivered on site, providing students with a fun and practical introduction to hockey. This is an engaging and simple way to introduce large numbers of students to hockey in a short timeframe.
- Sporting Schools Programs = Hockey SA can support your school in applying for and delivering the Sporting Schools Hookin2Hockey program, either as a teacher delivered or coach delivered program. Our coach delivered programs are often carried out over four weeks on site by our accrediated coaches. We also offer a full Sporting Schools curriculum resource that teachers can use to deliver the program themselves, providing structured lesson plans, activity guides, and learning outcomes aligned to the Australian Curriculum.
- After-School Hockey Programs = For schools wishing to extend student involvement beyond class time, Hockey SA can assist in establishing an after-school program. These programs can be run over multiple weeks and delivered in collaboration with local hockey clubs (subject to coach availability).
- State Hockey Centre Use= There is also an opportunity for schools to use the pitches at the State Hockey Centre for PE lessons, program delivery and events.
We are happy to talior programs to suit individual needs. If you wish to inquire about a schools program please email linzi.appleyard@hockeysa.com.au
Hockey SA require coaches for school clinics, holiday activities and pathway programs. Please contact linzi.appleyard@hockeysa.com.au if you're interested in coaching for Hockey SA.
