Vale Brian 'Robbie' Roberts

Hockey SA is saddened to hear of the passing of Life Member, Brian ‘Robbie’ Roberts. Robbie passed away peacefully on 13th February 2023.
Robbie spent many years with the South Australian Men’s Master’s Hockey Association, where he was not only a Life Member, but also a founding member of the association. The time and work that Robbie and his partner Jan devoted to the association, is a large reason for the strong presence the association still has today.
Robbie’s hockey affiliations also lead him to being an active member with both Woodville Hockey Club and Port Adelaide District Hockey Club. In 2007, Robbie was awarded Life Membership to Hockey SA for his ongoing work and dedication to the sport of hockey in South Australia.
Robbie was known for his welcoming smile and love of sharing his hockey stories. He will be sadly missed by the hockey community and those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A Celebration of Life for Robbie will take place at the Port Adelaide District Hockey Club on Saturday 4th March, from 2-5pm. Anyone wishing to attend is asked to please text Jan on 0417890716, to allow for adequate catering to be arranged for the gathering.
