The Fire Are Heating Up

We are excited to anounce 2 new signings for the Adelaide Fire Women's program. The signing of Hockeyroo Greta Hayes & new head coach Brodie Gleeson. 

Greta Hayes
A dynamic midfielder for the Australian Hockeyroos, known for her smart distribution, defensive grit, and relentless work rate.  Since her senior debut in 2018, Hayes has represented the green and gold on the world stage, including at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and multiple FIH World Cups.

Originally from NSW, Hayes rose through the ranks through the national junior programs, earning silver at the 2016 Junior World Cup. Now representing Adelaide Fire in Hockey One, she brings strong leadership, experience, and elite-level composure to the team.

Off the field, Hayes is admired for her humility, professionalism, and commitment to team culture. She remains an influenctial figure, and is commited to the growth of hockey in South Australia.

Brodie Gleeson
An experienced hockey coach and accomplished player, serving as the Premier League Women’s Head Coach at Adelaide Hockey Club. With a coaching career spanning over a decade, Gleeson has led teams across junior and senior levels, including state appointments such as Head Coach of the SA U18 Men's team (2024) and Assistant Coach for the U21 Men's team (2022–23).

As a player, Gleeson began his A-Grade journey at just 14 in the Northern Territory, where he won 2 premierships. Gleeson went on to play 12 years of Premier League hockey in South Australia for the Adelaide Hockey Club. His playing highlights include two AHC premierships, leading goal scorer titles in 2020 and 2022, and national representation with the NT Stingers and Adelaide Fire.

With a deep passion for player development, performance strategy, and team culture, Brodie continues to make a strong impact both on and off the field.
