Two of School Sport SA’s 15 and Under Girls bronze medal team were named as All-Australians after being recognised among the best players at the School Sport Australia Championship.
Jada Copping and Olivia Langston both received the nod after terrific performances at the competition, which was no surprise to coach Peter Garlick.
“Jada Copping, she’s as hard as boot nails, fiercely determined, would go through a brick wall to play well for South Australia,” he said.
“A fast, skilful attacking player, and it was no surprise that led to her play setting up the winning goal against Victoria in the bronze medal match.
“Her tackling was ruthless, that's Jada in a nutshell.”
Coach Garlick said he was able to watch just about each game at the competition, giving him good judgment across the board.
“I said to Olivia, and I can say this on good grounding, is that she was the best first runner in defensive corners in the whole competition,” he said.
“I think she closed down just about every single attacking corner, every defensive corner we had against us.
“That was instrumental in doing as well as what we did. She was fearless in doing that because you got to put your body on the line.
“She gets out there so quick, the attitude behind that was brilliant.”
