Hockey SA is proud to announce we will be delivering our first Goal Keeper L1 Caoching Course!

Ever wondered how to best engage and develop your Goal Keepers during a regular season training?

Or are you interested in coaching a GK training sesseion or development program?

Look no further, this is the course for you!

The GK Level 1 Coach Course covers the various fundemental technical skills of a Goal Keeper including: Open and close feet saves, stick and glove saves, sliding and diving, penalty corner dragflicks, penalty corner hit (lying down) and more.

In addition, the course will include the decsion making and tactical componenents to support the development and performance of Goal Keepers such as positioing, knowing when to pressure the shot/ ball carrier, when to stay in goals, reading shooting cues, communication to players etc.

The course will also offer an insight of how to best cater for Goal Keepers at any level, to keep them engaged, motivated and always learning. The course is designed to cater for both new and experienced coaches and will boost your confidence going into your future hockey endeavours.

Main Presenter: Jaimie Holland

Jaimie Holland has been the South Australian Institute of Sport and Hockey SA specialist goalkeeper coach for the past eight years. He has worked with Mark Hickman and David Staniforth, the past two Hockey Australia goalkeeper coaches and has coached on national junior camps in Canberra and Melbourne. Jaimie is actively involved with coaching goalkeepers around SA and also coaches juniors at school and club levels.
