Too often at junior and community level, goalkeepers are left to “figure it out” during shooting drills or are only coached when mistakes happen.
This session aims to change that by giving community coaches the confidence to teach specialised goalkeeping skills at club level.

Designed for all, this session breaks down the core fundamentals every goalkeeper needs, from positioning and footwork to shot-stopping, and decision-making under pressure.

Whether you’re a volunteer parent coach, developing junior teams, or simply looking to expand your coaching knowledge, this session will provide practical ideas you can immediately take back to grassroots environments.

You’ll learn how to teach these skills in a clear, structured way, with simple drills and progressions you can apply immediately in your training sessions. We’ll also cover common technical errors, how to correct them, and ways to build confidence and communication in your goalkeepers.
