Adelaide Fire Women’s Coach - Expressions of Interest

Adelaide Fire is South Australia’s elite Men’s & Women’s field hockey team who compete in the Sultana Bran Hockey One League. The Adelaide Fire is managed and resourced by Hockey South Australia.
The Adelaide Fire is one of seven franchises across the country who field both a Men’s and Women’s team, in a competition which delivers equity through its playing conditions, media exposure, broadcast and scheduling.
The Adelaide Fire are seeking expressions of interest for a Women’s Head Coach for the 2024 Hockey One Season. This follows notice from 2023 Women’s Head Coach, Hugh Purvis, advising he won’t continue in a coaching capacity for the Adelaide Fire in 2024.
The Adelaide Fire and Hockey SA thank Hugh for his tenure with both the Adelaide Fire teams over the past two seasons. Hugh led the Adelaide Fire Men’s team in 2022, following the return of the Hockey One competition after Covid. He then shifted alignment and moved over to leading the Women’s team as their Head Coach in 2023. We thank Hugh for his time and dedication to our Fire teams.
Hugh’s departure from the Fire now opens up the opportunity for expressions of interest for a Women’s Head Coach, for the 2024 Hockey One Season.
The Head Coach is responsible for providing coaching expertise, leadership and preparation for the team leading into the Hockey One Competition.
