Hockey SA aims to be seen as one of the better governed sports within the state. The organisation recognises the Governance Principles for South Australian State Sport Organisations. Click here to access the principles as published by the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing.

We aim to comply with the vast majority of these principles and are working towards developing and ultimately publishing a summary of our compliance with these principals on a 'if not why not' basis similar to publicly listed companies.

In recent years, the Board has completed a number of different review exercises to look at its own structure and performance to consider how it can improve. This included a self-assessment against the Australian Sports Commission Governance Principles with the use of an external consultant which was funded with thanks to a grant by the Office for Recreation and Sport.

Club and Association Forums

Hockey SA will conduct a series of Club & Association Forums every year as an opportunity to;

  • Share progress with regards to the Strategic Plan of Hockey SA.
  • Share progress towards annual budget.
  • Discuss issues and topics relevant to the time.
  • Share any other general program, event or competition information with members.
  • Provide a forum for members to ask questions and provide feedback with regards to the broader health of the game and the performance of Hockey SA.

The meetings will be scheduled online and made available to all Regional Associations.

The meetings also seek to address the purpose of the Strategic Forum of Association under section 30.1 and 30.2 of the Hockey SA Constitution.

Hockey SA recommend that clubs and Associations send multiple representatives from their clubs to the forums to ensure a breadth of views and increase the information sharing across the Hockey SA Community.
